Our visit to your lodge was a dream come true! The acommodations were superp in terms of comfort and beauty. The view from the room was breathtaking - it put in a trance! The breakfasts were delicious and filling. The advice on local activities was professional and on the mark - perfect activities. And you, Rick and Debbie, as host and hostess were personable and engaging. The only part of the stay we didn't like was having to leave!

We hope to come again - perhaps in a winter - and perhaps with our daughter and son-in-law.

Thanks, again.

We spent seven fun-filled, romatic days in Maine on our honeymoon in early September 2005. It was the perfect place to re-energize and start our new life together. We began our trip on the coast in lovely Boothbay Harbor and then spent the last four days at 5 Lakes Lodge in the great North Woods of Maine. It has been one long week since we left the peace and tranquility of the great North Woods of Maine and all we can talk about is planning our return trip! During our stay at 5 Lakes Lodge, proprieters Rick and Deb were so friendly, gracious and hospitable. They made us feel welcome and at home -- as if we were part of their family. We were so impressed with their knowledge of the area, the people and its history. Their attention to detail along with their genuine personalities made our stay all the more enjoyable. As if that weren't enough, Amber the dog was there to greet us on our arrival and on our daily returns to the Lodge. She made us feel special too and helped to ease the separation from our own furry, four-legged friends back home. We can't say enough about the Lodge. What an extraordinary place! We stayed in the Pemadumcook Room (the honeymoon suite). The views of the lake and Mt. Katahdin were out of this world! We kept the windows open at night and slept to the crisp Fall breezes and the sounds of the lake water splashing on the shore just a few feet away. The bed was so cozy and warm. And the hot tub was so relaxing. Mornings were a real treat! Waking up to Rick and Deb's homemade Maine blueberry pancakes and stuffed French toast were a breakfast-lovers delight! Believe us when we tell you -- four days are not enough time to spend at this place! During our stay, we encountered four Moose on our journey through Baxter State Park, just a stone's through away from the Lodge. It was one of those wonderous "mother nature" experiences you never forget! We were awestruck by the upclose view of these tremendous creatures, the mountains, the lake and all that nature has to offer. Everyone should be so lucky as we were that day, if only to appreciate the gifts only God and nature can provide. On our return trip, we plan to do more hiking up Katahdin and other nearby mountains. There's never enough time to do it all on one trip! We spent our next to last day white water rafting on the Penobscot River just a few miles away from the Lodge. What a thrill! We were unsure and a bit timid at first, but once we hit that first five class rapid, we were hooked! We plan to do the Double Trouble next go 'round! When we came back from the river trip, Rick and Deb were there to greet us and offered to take us out on their pontoon boat for an evening sunset cruise on the lake. It certainly does not get any better than that evening. The views were spectacular. We also came across a bald eagles nest and watched in wonder as two of the eagles soared above us. Later that night after a fabulous dinner at a local establishment, we came back to see Rick and Deb outside watching the Northern Lights show. We stood with them gazing up at the Heavens and watching stars that were brighter than we had ever seen. We would highly recommend 5 Lakes Lodge. You won't regret it! We'll be back soon. Sincerely, Kevin & Dixie Punsky Jacksonville, Florida

Our three day stay at 5 Lakes Lodge was the most relaxing get-a-way we have had in a long time. It was on the occasion of our 21st wedding anniversary, and we could not have picked a better spot for our weekend.

Rick and Deb are experienced and gracious hosts that attend to every detail to see that your stay will be enjoyable and memorable.

We can't wait for the opportunity to return!

We spent two wonderful nights here in May and are already making plans to come back before the end of the year. Rick and Deb made us feel very welcome and the room was comfortable and had a great view. We stayed in "South Twin"  room. I can't say enough about how nice it is here and we strongly recommend that anybody travelling in this part of Maine stop by for a night or two. You will be glad you did.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay this past February, and look forward to coming back again. You're both great hosts, and the lodge is so comfy.

We both agreed that the Jo-Mary Snowmobile Club's groomed trails were the best around. I give you the "Trail Groomer of the Year" award for my whole winter of trail riding - Jackman, Rockwood, NE Carry, Greenville and Kokadjo included. All were tops, but your trails were the best snowmobile trails in Maine - even though you insist on grooming with a Bombi instead of a Tucker Sno-Cat trail groomer.

Best wishes with the lodge. No other lodging comes close in the entire Millinocket Lakes and Katahdin region. We were spoiled by our stay, and now I keep getting hounded to buy a bed like those super comfortable ones you have.

We planed to stay for three days, but stayed for nine and made friends for lifetime!

It was our first time venturing to Maine to snowmobile and only by luck did Karen and I find the best place to stay in Maine. Rick and Debbie are both ambassadors to the sport of snowmobiling and their lodge is built to support the sport in no way I've seen anywhere else in Maine or any other state. The basement with its wood stove is great place to store the riding gear and to warm quickly after a long ride.

Though there isn't a bad room in the lodge, each with breathtaking views of Mt Katahdin, we were graced with the finest room available. Every aspect of the room from the bed to the bathroom was perfect.

Each day after a fantastic breakfast in the kitchen, Rick would recommend a loop or a destination and know what we would expect for trail conditions along the way. With gas available right at the lodge, there was no need to travel into the more popular areas which always tend to get bumpy to fill up.

After three days, we planned to leave the lodge and travel further northeast in Maine. Rick went out of his way to tell us where we should ride, what we should see and even assisted in helping us make lodging reservations. In the process of packing up to move on, I looked around our room and had a feeling like I was leaving home and leaving friends. I asked my wife how she would feel if we spent a few more days at the lodge and as you can imagine it took no more than asking the question and we were spending the entire week with Debbie and Rick.

We had a wonderful week at the lodge and with Debbie and Rick. Karen and I both agree that this vacation was in the top five of all time for us. We are already planning to visit this summer and we've told Debbie and Rick to reserve our room for a week next February.

We spent two nights at 5 Lakes Lodge in late August, 2004.  Next year we plan to return for a week, that is if we can get a reservation because once the secret is out this place is going to be booked!

5 Lakes Lodge has everything a deluxe hotel has to offer and more, far more.  As far as amenities are concerned, the innkeepers, Rick and Debbie, provide their guests with an experience to rival that of any Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton hotel.  That's not to say the atmosphere is formal.  It's not.  Nonetheless, the guests' comfort and privacy have been given top priority.   The mattresses are so comfortable that you won't want to get up in the morning, although the excellent breakfasts do motivate.  I've been in Jacuzzis before, but the ones at 5 Lakes Lodge simply have to be experienced to be believed, and every guest room has one!  Some of the other features of the beautifully decorated guest rooms are gorgeous king-sized beds, huge bathrooms with custom-made granite vanities, cable TV and small refrigerators.   Every need has been anticipated.

The lodge building itself is incredibly beautiful.  Just about everything is made of wood with the notable exception of granite windowsills -  an exquisite touch.  The outside walls are constructed of enormous spruce logs, and there is a huge hearth made of locally collected granite river rocks.  I have never seen anything like it anywhere.  Make sure you check out the online 360 degree tour of the lodge, but nothing can take the place of seeing it with your own eyes.

Luxury notwithstanding, what makes 5 Lakes Lodge truly unforgettable is its location.  The breathtaking beauty of Mt Katahdin, seen across the lake. can be viewed from every bedroom window.  Moreover, this uncrowded wilderness region is a sportsman's paradise, offering all manner of fun, including fishing. kayaking, snow mobiling, hiking, cross country skiing, sailing, water skiing, swimming (for the stalwart) and more.   As natives of the Maine North Woods, Rick and Debbie are exceptionally knowledgable and helpful.  They are more than willing to share with their guests the joy they experience in living there.

Unfortunately, this time our stay was short.  We enjoyed a beautiful hike and spent some time fishing from the beach right in front of the lodge.  We saw an eagle flying overhead and heard the loons calling morning and evening.  Had we known how amazing 5 Lakes Lodge is we would have budgeted our vacation time differently.  Next summer won't come too soon.

My wife recently took me to the 5 Lakes Lodge for a birthday weekend.  We had a simply wonderful time!  The Inn in gorgeous.  The love that went into it and attention to detail is evident everywhere you look.

Rick and Debbie are wonderful hosts in the truest sense of the word.  They truly made us feel like guests instead of customers.  Breakfast was delicious each morning!  The room was spacious and luxurious and comfortable.  The oversizied jacuzzi tub was a real treat.  The views are spectacular and peaceful.

However, all of this pales in comparison to the biggest selling point of the Inn... Amber!  :-)   She is the Inn's 4-legged ambassador.  She'll make you feel more welcome than anything.

All in all - a wonderful time.  Rick & Debbie, thank you so much!

Great place! Warm cozy atmosphere. Beautiful views. Laying in bed listening to the waves hitting the shore reminds me of living on a lake as a kid.

We had the distinction and honor of being the very first guests at 5 Lakes Lodge when we found Rick & Debbie's wonderful place in July of 2004. Their beautiful, brand new lodge is literally surrounded by water and the view across the lake to the distant mountains is breathtaking!  The rooms and appointments are outstanding - we are certain that organizations like AAA will give them their highest 4 diamond rating.  No details were overlooked for the comfort and enjoyment of their guests.  Rick and Debbie go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and at home.We plan to return for the snowmobile season next February since they are open year round.  You are in for a real treat when you visit 5 Lakes Lodge!
